Dr Shahid Latif is the Chief Executive of Oxford Psychiatry Group and an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in General Adult Psychiatry. With over 23 years of clinical and leadership experience in both the NHS and independent sector, he has extensive expertise in ADHD, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, psychosis, personality difficulties and culturally-influenced mental health presentations.
His clinical practice also includes specialist expertise in medically prescribed cannabis treatment, providing safe, evidence-based consultations for patients who may benefit from cannabinoid-based therapies under robust clinical governance. He also runs a dedicated Sleep Clinic, offering comprehensive assessment and treatment for insomnia and sleep disorders.
Dr Latif has held multiple national leadership roles, including Chair of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych) Trent Division and Chair of the British Pakistani Psychiatrists Association, and previously led the RCPsych Transcultural Psychiatry Special Interest Group. A Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, he is a recipient of several Clinical Excellence Awards.
He is a respected national voice on cultural intelligence in mental health and a regular contributor to the BBC Asian Network. He was recognised in the Top 75 notable British Pakistani academics, trainers and teachers (2022–23) and nominated for RCPsych Communicator of the Year (2023).
