Dr Samia Latif

Consultant in Health Protection and Global Public Health | Strategic Leader | Champion of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Dr Samia Latif is an experienced public health physician and strategic leader with over two decades of expertise spanning public health, global health security, health protection and health systems strengthening. She currently serves as a Consultant in Health Protection and Global Public Health at the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), where her work contributes to strengthening public health systems, enhancing preparedness for emerging health threats and addressing complex global health challenges.

Dr Latif is Chair of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee at the UK Faculty of Public Health and Chair of the Race Equality Network at UKHSA. Through these leadership roles, she champions inclusive organisational cultures, advances health equity and promotes meaningful action to address inequalities across the public health workforce and wider society.

Her professional expertise encompasses systems leadership, pandemic preparedness, workforce development, health protection and strategic collaboration. She is passionate about building resilient health systems, fostering diverse and inclusive workplaces, and ensuring that public health policies and practices deliver equitable outcomes for communities.
