What our patients say
M.L.
With Dr Max Malik, I have felt not only listened to, understood, and supported, but also deeply valued. His knowledge and compassion are rare, and they have meant the world to me.
For over 20 years, I sought psychiatric support through the NHS and often felt unheard, with feelings of abandonment compounded by being dismissed or ignored. I believe that had Dr Max Malik and I crossed paths a decade ago, a great deal of pain and distress could have been avoided.
I was anxious before our call, as my combination of medication is unusual. However, it is finally working and helping me. Dr Max Malik’s vast experience and expertise gave him the confidence to trust me and support the continuation of a treatment plan that is genuinely making a difference. I felt reassured, understood, and further supported in my healing journey, with additional guidance offered where needed.
I sincerely hope that many more patients are able to benefit from Dr Max Malik’s professionalism, kindness, and exceptional knowledge.

Following a consultation with Dr Max Malik to discuss and assess my mother’s progress, we would like to express our appreciation for the excellence with which the consultation was conducted.
His compassion immediately put my mother at ease, which is particularly commendable given her illness and her usual response to strangers. He was calm, patient, and highly engaging throughout the consultation. Knowing that Dr Max Malik is overseeing my mother’s current treatment provides us with great reassurance and peace of mind.
Often, it is difficult to acknowledge and appreciate the significant work that takes place behind the scenes by individuals we may not regularly meet, yet who play a vital role in care and recovery. This recognition is both sincere and important, and it has helped to restore our confidence and trust.

I have been working with various mental health services for as long as I can remember. The process has never been easy. Over the years, I have worked with a number of key workers, clinicians, and psychotherapists. Living with my mental health challenges has been extremely difficult, particularly as my needs are complex, and I have often felt that I was not easy to support.
That changed during my recent sessions with Dr Max Malik, where I felt genuinely heard and validated. Instead of feeling as though I was sitting with someone emotionally unavailable, I felt that Dr Max Malik truly cared about me and my treatment plan. He did not rush into the changes I requested, and his thoughtful approach and forward plan have worked exceptionally well for me and continue to do so.
During my last session, when I was feeling close to becoming hypomanic, he helped ground me without making me feel judged or uncomfortable. He explained clearly, step by step, what I needed to do and ensured there were follow-up touchpoints after our appointment. All of this was done with remarkable kindness and compassion.
For the first time since I began recognising my mental health challenges at a very young age, I feel genuinely hopeful and excited about where I am heading.
