Fatima Hussain is a BACP-accredited Psychotherapist and Couples Therapist with over eight years’ experience supporting adults and couples with emotional, psychological and relationship difficulties. She has particular expertise in relationship difficulties, depression and life transitions, providing integrative and person-centred psychological therapy tailored to the individual needs of clients and couples.

Fatima currently works within the NHS as a High Intensity Therapist in Couples Therapy for Depression (CTfD), providing specialist Step 3 psychological therapy for couples where depression and relationship distress are interconnected. She is a trained CTfD practitioner through Tavistock Relationships and has additional specialist training in couples and relationship therapy, systemic family therapy and attachment theory.

Her therapeutic approach draws on person-centred, psychodynamic, systemic and relational approaches, allowing therapy to be adapted to the experiences, cultures, relationships and circumstances of each individual or couple. She works collaboratively with clients to explore patterns within relationships, improve understanding and communication, and support meaningful and sustainable change.

Fatima also has particular experience in grief, bereavement and trauma-informed work. Her Master’s training included a specialist focus on bereavement and disenfranchised grief following perinatal loss. Her wider professional experience has included developing trauma-informed resources and interventions to support people recovering from traumatic experiences.

She is trained to work with Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) and brings an inclusive and culturally sensitive perspective to therapy. Her approach is compassionate, collaborative and non-judgemental, creating a supportive space in which individuals and couples can better understand their experiences, relationships and emotional needs.
